Things that need to be changed!

The logo;

I plan to put the new logo on the page and maybe make it slightly longer than the current logo on the page to try and fill up a bit more of the first third of the page and I think that maybe if it is a little longer that the letters will stand out more. 

The headline;

'MHK'S are still debating university tuition fees' is a bit of a long headline as they are suppose to be short and snappy and stick it in your mind. I think that running this story as it is very relevant to my target audience of 16 - 25 but another headline is needed. I have come up with a couple of ideas. 

• Tuition Stalemate
• Mark on Education
• To good for to long says Grey.

I think the best one of these headlines is 'Tuition Stalemate' it is short and snappy and it gives me room to get a summary of the story that I have already written for the second page.

The adverts;

The Engine Room advert and then the story about 'Elliot' in the 'Engine Room' is something that looks suspicious in the eyes of media. An advert on the front page as well as a story on the front cover could be interpreted as them paying for both. I am not going to change the story but  I changed the advert and  I am also thinking of making it slightly smaller and maybe including possibly 2 small one, possibly for a local business. 

Another story;

I need to appeal to all of my target audience and I am aware that tuition fees and music will only appear to some of them. However there has been a lot of debate lately about bringing the age at which you can drive inline with the UK which would be 17 due to the rising insurance costs and there are serious issues with the 'R' plate scheme that they run in the Isle of Man for the first 12 months after you pass your test. 

These are some of the plans that I have to change the cover to make it a better quality paper, there are other things such as the layout and fonts and colour that I am still unsure of. However this will be easier when I have started work on it and I am able to see the work that I have done.
